general terms & conditions
Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Young people between the ages of 12 and 18 must have permission from a parent/guardian should they wish to attend a session without an accompanying adult.
The Shed Recording Studio has a limited capacity of up to 4 people per session (not including staff). This does not include the Under-12s sessions (see Under-12s terms & conditions for more details).
Food and drink may be consumed on the premises but must be brought in sealed containers or bottles. This must be kept away from equipment at all times.
disability access
The Shed Recording Studio is keen to promote equality of opportunity for people with disabilities and to take the necessary steps to meet their requirements.
Parking is available on the driveway with a short distance across a lawn to the control room which is then accessed via a step onto a verandah and a raised threshold. Access to the sound booth is level from the driveway.
Toilets are situated in the house and are not suitable for wheelchair access.
use of facilities
The Shed Recording Studio can provide use of amplifiers, instruments (including electric keyboard, electric and acoustic guitars, bass guitar, ukulele and percussion) and studio equipment only while a studio engineer is present.
Customers are welcome to bring their own instruments to sessions. Due to limited space in the studio, we ask that customers enquire about larger instruments (e.g. drums/harp) before arriving.
There are limited toilet facilities inside the house. Due to the house being a private dwelling, we ask that you be accompanied into the building.
There is one available parking space on the driveway outside the studio; extra parking on the road is subject to availability. The Shed Recording Studio takes no responsibility for any damage that may occur to vehicles parked on or around the premises.
deposits and payment terms
All recording session bookings require a 25% deposit in advance to confirm and secure the session date and time.
The remaining 75% balance will be due 3 days before the session date.
Bookings made within 3 days of the session date will require full payment to secure the booking.
All payments must be made by someone over the age of 18.
mastered audio and file delivery
Raw audio recordings from sessions can be delivered within 24 hours of the session.
Final mix and masters of projects will be delivered as soon as possible but may take up to 2 weeks unless stated otherwise. Once final payment has been made, the masters, including all other audio and project files, become property of the person who has paid for the session.
Project files and reference MP3’s may be delivered as and when requested.
Files delivered on memory sticks, hard drives, or CDs require extra payment.
cancellation policy
Whilst we understand that in certain circumstances clients need to cancel sessions, this causes financial complications not only to the studio but also the engineer.
For any sessions cancelled within a 48-hour period of the session start date, the 25% deposit is non-refundable.
Any sessions cancelled on the day of a session will require full payment to cover the loss of booking for the studio and engineer.
Any amendments to sessions need to be made within 48 hours of the original booking.
music and audio production services
Mixing and mastering projects can take up to 2 weeks to be completed, however this may vary depending on the size of the project and availability of the mixing engineer. Timings for larger projects are at the discretion of the mixing engineer, but the customer will always be informed of all time estimates or changes.
One track vocal tuning is included in the mixing, and any additional editing is available at extra cost.
If a project contains over 30 stems/audio files then additional payment is required.
Stem mastering is an additional cost over single file mastering.
The basic mix/master for a demo project does not include any revisions.
Eight or more songs are required to be eligible for album discounts.
gift packages
Gift Vouchers: Check your gift voucher for validation dates. Advanced booking is required.
Please note that gift vouchers are non-transferable, non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Gift vouchers must be presented on arrival.
At the end of the session a digital file, USB or CD will be made available. These may not be available immediately if minor mixing is agreed upon.
Mixing/audio corrective work is available at additional cost.
Adults Birthday Experience: Refreshments for this gift package are limited to one glass of prosecco per person.
Bespoke Song/Composition: Whilst it is our aim to have a bespoke composition ready within two weeks, please be aware that this process may take longer. The customer will always be informed of any delays/changes that may occur.
The Shed Recording Studio will not be responsible for late submissions if the customer has not provided the information needed to complete the project at least 3 weeks before the deadline date.
under-12s
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
During the under-12s sessions, there is a limit of up to 4 children, who must be accompanied by an adult.

Sing The Song You Never Thought You Could: Please note that while these sessions are designed to be enjoyable, they will also be fast-paced/intense, which is why we are limiting the sessions as part of this package to 40 minutes each.
